Random Weird Person Walking Uptown on 7th Avenue

Heavy purple lady
sequined skirt dragging dust mites from yesterday's floorboards,
fur scarf wrapped and bound,
parasol erect and proud to keep away April's sun beams.
A lady!
Oh! What diamonds lay between her folds of wool and flesh?
What demons hide beneath the crawling crinoline?

This poem was written in response the the April 2 RWP prompt about Acronyms. we were asked to choose an acronym with the letters RWP. I chose Random Weird Person. It was easy to find inspiration, having just been to Manhattan.
